Gretha Heynike

Gretna Heynike, who joined the CPO in November 2024, receives her MMus in performance from Stellenbosch in 2025, having completed her BMus Hons cum laude and MMus from the same university.  While she has played ad hoc with the CPO from 2023, she has had vast experience a an orchestral musician as a member of the African United Youth Orchestra, Stellenbosch University SO and Camerata, and Sinfonia Juventi Youth Orchestra. She was also co-principal of USSO. Gretna has been a instrument ambassador for the Benedetti Foundation, and has had master classes with Zoe Beyers and Ian Watson. She also attended the Irish Chamber Orchestra Academy Project at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance in Limerick.
