Rebekah Beelders, who joined in April 2023, obtained her BMus at the University of Cape Town, specializing in composition under the tutelage of Hendrik Hofmeyr. Rebekah received her degree in 2022 with distinction in Composition and Violin. She also won the Stephanie Garnett Memorial Prize for her violin playing. In 2023, Rebekah completed her Honours in Violin Performance under the pedagogy of Farida Bacharova, and is currently working towards her Postgraduate Diploma in Violin Performance.
Rebekah was delighted to have several of her works performed at concerts in the Baxter Concert Hall. She has been playing ad hoc with the CPO since late 2022, and has also played with the UCT Symphony Orchestra and had some of her works performed at the Baxter Theatre. During her studies, she played with the University of Cape Town Symphony Orchestra and other ensembles such as the Stellenbosch International Chamber Music Festival.
